Ben - AKA "The Main Gardener"
Ben's the heart and soul of Anchorage Gardens, our Main Gardener & daddy to our Mini Gardener, Connor.
His love of gardening started from a young age when he used to help his Grandad Tony, an avid gardener in his own right, in his garden.
This ignited a passion in Ben that he still carries to this day.
Ben holds a National Diploma in Countryside Management from Hadlow College. The course gave him a vast knowledge about Gardening, Soft Landscaping & Maintenance.
After completing his course at Hadlow, Ben went on to work at Waitrose in Paddock Wood, picking up key skills in Customer Service across the various departments he worked in. He was responsible for setting up the horicultural area at the front of the shop and ensuring the plants were attended to ready for sale.
While at Waitrose he routinely helped friends and customers with their gardens in his spare time.
He decided in early 2018 that he wanted to set out on his own and build his own business and what better to do then follow his gardening passion. While still working at Waitrose, Ben developed his customer base fitting in garden work around his full time job.
Through dedication and hard work, Ben was able to take the plunge and became fully self employed in Spring 2019.
His knowledge and passion shines through while discussing work with his customers and we're proud he's leading our ship and know we'll continue to flourish as a family business with him at the helm.
Outside of work, Ben can be found on family days out exploring local landmarks and the odd bit of gaming on the side.
